Free Spoken Word Festival for Veterans

Spoken word festival in honor of Veterans’ Day.

SECOND ANNUAL FREE  SPOKEN WORD FESTIVAL: VETERANS, VALUES & VOICES: WORDS IN SEARCH OF OUR MISSING PEACE

South Central PaARTners at Millersville University and Write Face, a non-profit organization that provides free writing and journaling workshops for veterans and their families, will be hosting a spoken word festival the day before Veteran’s Day, Sunday, Nov. 10, from 2-4 p.m. at the Ware Center in downtown Lancaster. This event is free and open to the public, and will feature poetry, storytelling and more.

Write Face’s process helps vets who are having difficulty readjusting to explore their own feelings and communicate them more effectively families, friends and co-workers. South Central PaARTners is the local arts in education partnership of the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, and funds artist –in-residency programs throughout Lancaster, Lebanon, Berks, Schuylkill, and Western Chester Counties. They have funded four Write Face residencies over the past two years, and plan to work together on numerous programs in the future.
