Millersville University was well represented on August 25 at the eighth annual “Back to School Giveaway” inside the Lancaster Barnstormers’ Clipper Magazine Stadium. The event, sponsored by State Rep. Mike Sturla, was for students in grades K-8 from the School District of Lancaster.  Over 2,000 students received a free haircut, backpack, uniform, shoes and a book while also enjoying music, food, games and community activities. Students were also provided a free meal and free ticket to the 5 p.m. Lancaster Barnstormers game.

Over 30 Millersville student volunteers were on hand to help at the Back to School Giveaway.

President Wubah, the MU Mascots Skully and the Marauder, and over 30 Millersville student volunteers were on hand to help. The coordinators of the event are both graduates of Millersville University.  Mena Rodriguez graduated in May with a master’s degree in psychology and Francis Miliano, Representative Sturla’s newest legislative assistant, is a 2017 social work graduate. Miliano also served as an AmeriCorps VISTA in Experiential Learning And Career Management (ELCM) from 2017-2019.
