Meanwhile, MU was ranked at number 34 on Learn.org’s list of 50 Best Public Universities in the country. Bloomsburg University was the only other PASSHE school to make the list and MU was ranked above schools such as Temple University, Texas Tech University and West Virginia University.
Learn.org examined data and researched unique school attributes to come up with the 50 best public universities in the country. Data from the Department of Education such as graduation rates, tuition prices and student retention are just a few pieces of information that were used. All of this information was then balanced with the schools’ additional offerings, like study abroad opportunities, student activities, campus beauty and more.
MU was selected based on academic and career resources, quality of education, faculty and more.In addition, Learn.org noted that MU runs a 4-1-4 academic calendar, giving students two four-month semester with a one month mini-semester in between. A unique system that it says might be why a high percentage of 77 percent of students return after their first year.
