Millersville University’s (MU) 2018 Homecoming weekend, Friday, Oct. 12- Sunday, Oct. 14, is fast approaching. The weekend will be packed full of events, each full of Marauder spirit.
The 22nd annual Millersville Community-University parade will be the highlight of the weekend. The two-mile parade route travels through the heart of MU and will feature festivities for the whole family. This year’s theme is “Pennsylvania Proud,” allowing all to show off what makes them proud to be in the Keystone state. The festivities begin at 9 a.m. on Oct. 13.
The Marauder football team will take on Shippensburg at 2 p.m. at Chryst field on Oct. 13. Tailgating will take place in the parking lot along Pucillo Drive and will include the Marauder’s Concert series featuring a student band. Tailgating kicks off two hours prior to kickoff.
Friday consists of the Alumni & Friends Golf Outing at Crossgates Golf Club in Millersville, campus tours and the annual Athletic Hall of Fame dinner at 6 p.m. in the Lehr Room of Gordinier Hall.
Pridefest will be held Friday night, with a drag show at 8 p.m. in MU’s Student Memorial Center, Marauder Courts. Tickets can be purchased at MU ticket office or online at www.muticketsonline.com.
Saturday will also include Donuts with the Dean of the College of Education & Human Services, alumni baseball and softball games, a tent party on High School Avenue, and a Global Education porch party at Cumberland House.
The weekend will also include reunions, including the class of 1968 and the class of 1958, as well as the 50th anniversary for WIXQ – MU’s radio station, and the 35th anniversary of the Zeta Phi Beta sorority.
