Families Welcome to Campus during Parents/Family Weekend

Opportunity for families to reconnect with their new college students.

Millersville University (MU) will welcome parents and families of first year students this weekend as part of the Parents/Family Weekend. This event is held annually in September and is an opportunity for families to reconnect with their new college students. Activities will start on Friday, Sept. 14 at 5 p.m. and conclude on Saturday, Sept. 15 at 6:30.

The weekend kicks off on Friday at 5 p.m. when the Hospitality Suite opens. This area is located in the Student Memorial Center (SMC) in room 110 and will serve as an information station for parents and families who want to know more about the weekend’s festivities.

Friday night will feature other events including Family Fun Pub Trivia in the Bolger Conference Center and a Murder Mystery Dinner in the SMC. Parents and families can also explore downtown Lancaster and enjoy “Pick up My Pieces: The Music of Willie Nelson” at the Ware Center.

On Saturday, families will have a day full of events to choose from. The day starts at 7:30 a.m. when Bike Millersville begins on the lawn of the Winter Center. Other Saturday activities include The MU Historical Scavenger Hunt from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Black Light Mini Golf in the Reighard Multipurpose Room in the SMC. Later in the day, parents and students can show their Millersville Spirit and cheer on our football team at Biemesderfer Stadium. Kickoff is at 4 p.m.

Informational sessions will also be available for parents throughout the day on Saturday from 1-3 p.m. in SMC rooms 202 and 204. These sessions will cover topics including Study Abroad at 1 p.m., Overcoming First Year Student Hurdles at 2 p.m. and Considering Careers at 2 p.m.
