Out of the top 30 online master’s degree programs in emergency management (MSEM) in the nation, Millersville University has made the ranks at number 12. According to www.collegechoice.net, Millersville achieved a score of 89.96/100, outranking colleges such as Arkansas State University, Pennsylvania State University, Arizona State University, Pace University and Towson University.
College Choice noted the program’s flexible course format and applicability for students from a variety of disciplines and educational backgrounds as the reasons for Millersville’s spot on the list. In addition, they stated that Millersville’s program is ranked one of the most affordable in the country.
“It is always good to hear that our program is recognized on a national level and ranked along with other top programs in the country. Our program has also been ranked in 2017 as number one among the online programs by BestColleges.com,” said program coordinator Dr. Sepideh Yalda.
Over 100 students are currently enrolled in the MSEM program and are able to take courses with an emphasis on both theoretical and practical approaches to emergency management.
“Even though the program is fully online, all of our courses have an online synchronous component where faculty and students are online at the same time in a student-centered learning environment,” Continued Yalda. “We often hear from students that they find this time where faculty teach, lead discussions and engage students in work with one another are unique and highly beneficial to their learning experience.”
