Local early childhood education teachers are invited to From Stream to Sky, a workshop held at Millersville University’s Watershed Education Training Institute (WETi) on April 11 from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. This workshop will focus on lessons and activities for early childhood environmental education including activities from the Growing Up WILD curriculum.
Dr. Nanette Dietrich, a professor of Integrative STEM Education at Millersville, says, “By equipping pre-service and in-service elementary teachers with the knowledge and skills to implement meaningful watershed experiences in the classroom, we have the ability to teach the youngest citizens in PA about our most valuable resource, water.” The institute works with the Stroud Water Research Center and PA State Parks and Recreation to promote water conservation and stewardship in Pennsylvania.
The cost of the workshop is $10 and includes dinner. The activities during the workshop are hands-on and outside so dress accordingly. More information is available at https://stroudcenter.org/event/from-stream-to-sky/.
