SGA Holds Most Contested Election in Past Decade

Elections underway for Student Government Association.

Annually, the Student Government Association of Millersville University (SGA) goes through the process of elections for four of the positions on their executive board. Nine people are running for office this year for President of the Student Body, Vice-President of Advocacy & Outreach, Vice-President of Student Organizations, and Vice-President of Finance.

Among the many candidates include juniors John Tintera and Andrew Tepper running for president; first-year student Evelyn Dais, sophomores Abbey Ford and Jaelen Green and junior Triniti-Lynn Thornhill running for Vice-President of Advocacy & Outreach; first-year student Brittnay Goranson and junior Brooke Clouse running for Vice-President of Student Organizations; and sophomore Poushali Ghosh running for Vice-President of Finance.

“I think that this is the most highly contested race we’ve had in the past decade,” says current President Kiefer Luckenbill. Voting runs through Friday, Feb. 23.  Any part-time or full-time Millersville University student may vote in these elections and polling places are set up around the Student Memorial Center.
