‘Ville Student Presents at Ocean Sciences Meeting

Ocean Sciences and Coastal Studies major presents at national conference.

Millersville was well represented in Portland, Oregon for the 2018 Ocean Sciences Meeting (OSM). The meeting, Feb. 11-16, was co-sponsored by the American Geophysical Union, the Association for the Sciences of Limnology and Oceanography and The Oceanography Society. The OSM is an important venue for scientific exchange across broad marine science disciplines.

A Millersville Ocean Sciences and Coastal Studies majors, Cassandra Alexander, successfully presented her scientific research at the conference. The poster title was, “Cross-Frontal exchange of water masses at the New England Shelf Break: Preliminary Observations using the Coastal Pioneer Array.” Authors, in addition to Alexander, were MarieClaire Egbert (OSCS), Nathan Murry (adjunct faculty in DES, OSCS alumnus), and Dr. Robert Vaillancourt, associate professor of Oceanography.
