Drs. Wade-El and Welch Part of Lancaster Teenage Girls Empowerment Summit

On Oct. 20, Millersville University hosted The Lancaster Teenage Girls Empowerment Summit. Throughout the day various workshops and documentaries addressed concerns that are pertinent to young women.  The day was organized in part by Dr. Rita Smith Wade-El. Topics discussed included self-esteem/self-confidence, personal safety, bullying, spirituality and careers in STEM – Science, Technology, Engineering and Math fields. Assistant Dean of the College of Graduate Studies and Adult Learning, Dr. Charity Welch, was one of the featured speakers.
