Student Senate Collects Clothing for Houston

Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to donate clothes and other needed supplies.

As devastation in Houston continues to come to light, Millersville University’s Student Senate is sponsoring a clothing drive. It will begin on Tuesday, September 5.

Boxes will be placed outside of the Student Senate Office and in the CSIL circle for people to place items in at any time of their choosing. On Wednesday and Thursday, between the hours of 11 a.m. and 4 p.m., refreshments will be available to those who drop off clothing and supplies, and individuals will have opportunities to win prizes as well.

Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to donate clothes and other needed supplies.  All clothing will be given to the American Red Cross who in turn can send the clothing directly to hurricane victims, or can resell the clothing and use the money to help victims. Other than clothing, the most pressing items needed are diapers and formula, which will be donated to the Texas Diaper Bank.

Questions can be directed to Olivia Stoner, Vice President of Advocacy and Outreach, Student Senate at OKStoner@millersville.edu.
