The Office of Experiential Learning and Career Management (ELCM) is launching a pilot workforce traineeship program in Fall 2017. ELCM has partnered with SCORE Lancaster-Lebanon to launch this program, which will be funded by the Lancaster County Community Foundation’s BB&T Economic Growth Fund. SCORE Lancaster-Lebanon is a nonprofit organization that offers training and workshops to support the growth of small businesses in the area. The workforce traineeship program is designed to help students develop career-readiness competencies and build their work experience. Students will also benefit from mentoring by SCORE volunteers.
Students from all majors who have earned 12 credits from Millersville and have a 2.0 cumulative GPA are eligible to apply for this program. Participating students will receive education awards of $1,155 to serve as non-credit trainees at local Lancaster County businesses and nonprofit organization sites while serving 120 hours (8-10 hours per week) throughout the semester.
ELCM will be recruiting trainees for upcoming fall, spring, and summer semesters. If you have any questions or would like to apply, please contact Audrey Bare at audrey.bare@millersville.edu or refer to http://www.millersville.edu/elcm/traineeship/. The application deadline for the Fall 2017 semester is August 11, 2017, and students will have to complete a traineeship application and submit a resume in order to apply.
