Sprucing Up the Water Tower

Water tower gets the summer off

Millersville University is currently on city water while crews work to spruce up the water tower. During the first week of May, the 1,100,000 gallon water tank near Jefferson Hall on campus was slowly drained and the campus was switched over to Lancaster City water.

The tank is undergoing maintenance and will be offline until August. The old paint inside the tank is being stripped off and then it will be repainted.  During the maintenance, you may experience a drop in water pressure on campus.

Once the project is completed in August, before classes start, the tank will be refilled and the campus will be switched back over to its own well water and the pressure will be restored.

The last time the water tower was spruced up was 10 years ago.
