Zaremski Named Interim Director

Robin Zaremski

Robin D. Zaremski was recently named the interim director of visual and performing Arts at Millersville University. She started on February 13 and takes the place of Laura Kendall, who ran the office that includes The Ware Center and The Winter Center on campus since 2011. Kendall was named the vice president of programming and education at Omaha Performing Arts in Nebraska.

Zaremski has a bachelor’s from West Chester University, a Certificate in Recording Arts & Sciences from UCLA, and Juris Doctorate from Temple University.  She has been working in the music business since the early 1990s, first working at the Screen Actor’s Guild as their Singers Rep, and then for Almo Sounds/Rodor Music – the record company and music publisher owned by Herb Alpert and Jerry Moss of A & M. She became the director of programming for Musikfest (what is now ArtsQuest) booking artists for both the festival and the main stage and performing all of the stage management and production functions.  She then went to work at Universal Music in New York in business affairs; then began teaching music business at Albright College.  She returned to ArtsQuest to help open Steelstacks and then went to Kutztown University to be director of KU Presents! where she oversaw the programming, budgeting, staffing and overall management of the Performing Arts Series.

Faculty/Staff Activities

Dr. Stacey Irwin, Communication & Theatre had her book, “Digital Media: Human–Technology Connection” featured in the February 2017 Choice reviews.

Dr. M. P. A. Sheaffer, English, sang with the St. Olave’s Singers for the Carol Service of the Worshipful Company of Clothworkers at St. Olave’s Church in the City of London and then for the special Christmas program at their Clothworkers’ Hall on December 20, 2016.  She also sang as an alto ringer with the Chorvereinigung St. Augustin in Mozart’s “Kronungsmasse” on Epiphany, January 6, 2017, and in Schubert’s “Mass in ‘C’” at the Jesuitenkirche in Vienna on 8 January. In addition, she had two of her poems published in the January 2017 issue of Pennessence, the official publication of the Pennsylvania Poetry Society: “Gambate!” and “White Snow,” a haiku.

Drs. Jeffrey Wimer and Rebecca Mowrey, Wellness and Sport Sciences, Daniel O’Neil, Counseling and Human Development, and Tim Mowrer ’15, Sport Management program graduate and Assistant Commissioner, Capital Athletic Conference had their article “A Study of NCAA Gambling Prevention Videos on Gambling Perceptions within a NCAA Division II Baseball Team,” published in the December 2016 Journal of Intercollegiate Sport.
