Freshman Receives Inaugural Pennsylvania Society Scholarship

Triniti-Lynn Thornhill selected to receive scholarship

TrinityTriniti-Lynn Thornhill, from Willow Grove, a freshman hoping to double-major in International Business and Business Management at Millersville University (MU) was one of 25 students selected to receive the Pennsylvania Society Scholarship.

Thornhill will receive an annually renewable $8,000 scholarship for four years of undergraduate study at MU. A recipient must have enrolled in a four-year accredited college in Pennsylvania, have a 3.0 or higher grade average and have demonstrated a commitment to serve the community.

“I applied because this scholarship could change my life, and help myself and my family pay for my college education,” said Thornhill.

Thornhill was accepted at all five schools that she applied to. She said she chose to come to Millersville because it was just the right distance from family, and there is a lot of potential for growth for her.

In its first year, the Pennsylvania Society and the Maguire Foundation has offered over $200,000 in scholarship awards for Pennsylvania students to attend college in Pennsylvania, enriching the strength and talent pool in the Commonwealth. All Pennsylvania Society Scholarship winners are required to complete nine credits of study in history, civics and/or government studies.
