Shakespeare is Here

Spend a beautiful night with Shakespeare on campus.

“To be, or not to be?” That is the question thespians from The People’s Shakespeare Project (TPSP) will answer in their portrayal of William Shakespeare’s classic, Hamlet, at Millersville University. Performances run June 9  to 19 with live music starting at 6:45 p.m. and the show at 7:30 p.m.

Millersville’s Winter Center Alumni Amphitheater hosts the celebration of drama, music and food. The festivities will help TPSP mark their 10th anniversary through an illustration of their efforts over the past decade – presenting free outdoor Shakespeare.

Since the amphitheater is located in the grassy outdoor lawn by the Winter Center, the audience is encouraged to bring blankets, lawn chairs and picnics for additional comfort. Snacks and drinks will be available for purchase from Millersville University’s food truck.

Hamlet epitomizes the dramatic nature of Shakespeare’s famous tragedies. Explorations of uncertainty, vengeance and despair are sure to captivate TPSP’s audience at MU throughout the series, placing them on the edge of their lawn chairs.

Performances will run from June 9-12 and June 16-19 at the aforementioned times. There is no fee to attend, but there is a suggested donation of $5 for students and $10 for adults.
