Spring Commencement Speaker Announced

Millersville University’s spring undergraduate commencement will take place on Saturday, May 7 at 10 a.m. in Biemesderfer Stadium.  The chairman of the Board of Governors (BOG) of Pennsylvania’s State System of Higher Education, Guido M. Pichini, will be the speaker at the ceremony.  Additional details are available on the Commencement webpage.

Pichini is the president and CEO of Security Guards Inc., and its subsidiaries and WSK and Associates Consulting Group and Vigilant Security Services Inc. Currently, he is serving his fifth consecutive term as the chairman of BOG and he has served on various boards of directors including the Council of Trustees at Kutztown University and he was the former president of the Pennsylvania Association of Councils of Trustees.  He has served two terms as a borough councilman and four terms as the mayor of Wyomissing Hills.

Pichini’s grandfather, who was an Italian immigrant, and father worked in the hosiery and steel mills in Reading. Pichini was encouraged by his parents to obtain a degree and graduated from Kutztown University with a bachelor’s degree in education/political science and a graduate degree in public administration. He also received a certification in minor judiciary from Wilson College, attaining the highest grade in the history of Pennsylvania.
