Science Can Be Glamorous

MU hosts annual Brossman-Frisbie Lecture

Christine McKinley will describe the glamorous side of science at Millersville University’s annual Brossman-Frisbie Science Lectureship on November 19.

McKinley is a licensed mechanical engineer that designs and manages the construction of power plants, semiconductor facilities and hospitals for major companies like Intel and Pacific Gas & Electric. She also is the author of Physics for Rock Stars and has produced a musical about physics and Catholic School titled, “Gracie and the Atom,” winning a Portland Drammy for best original score.

She co-hosted the television shows “Under New York,” featured on the Discovery Channel and “Brad Meltzer’s Decoded” on the History Channel. McKinley received her bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from California Polytechnic State University.

The lecture, “How Science Makes You Decisive, Courageous and Glamorous,” will take place on Thursday, Nov. 19 at 7 p.m. in the Clair Performance Hall in the Winter Visual and Performing Arts Center.

Admission for the lecture is free, but tickets are required. Tickets can be reserved at www.studentservicesinc.com/ticket-sales.
