The Power of the Purse

On Wednesday, April 15, the Women’s Giving Circle of Millersville University will host its fifth annual “Power of the Purse” fundraising event in the Ford Atrium, McComsey Hall from 5 – 7 p.m.

The “Power of Five” panel of speakers that will headline the event features Millersville University professor Dr. Sepi Yalda; WGAL broadcaster Christine Ferreira,’04; and alumni Jerri Anne Johnson,’76, ’87M;  Anne Harach, ’12, ’14M and Anne Jackson, ’78.

At this year’s event, designer purses will be auctioned off to benefit the Women’s Giving Circle, which distributes scholarships to female students annually for their accomplishments and good academic standing.

Attendees are also encouraged to bring gently used purses to the event, which will be given to the Milagro House, a Lancaster-based organization that provides shelter and education to homeless mothers and their children.
