Spring Commencement Speakers

WGAL’s Kim Lemon and MU’s Dr. Leroy Hopkins will speak.

Millersville University’s undergraduate spring commencement will take place on May 9 at 10 a.m. in Biemesderfer Stadium. Speaking at the undergraduate ceremony will be WGAL news anchor Kim Lemon.

Lemon, who has been with WGAL since 1979, currently anchors News 8 at 5 and 6 p.m. She is a Lancaster native and a graduate of Manheim Township High School. After graduation, Lemon attended the Kenya Science Teachers’ College in Nairobi before earning a Bachelor of Science in Speech Communications and Theatre from Clarion University.

The graduate ceremony, which is scheduled to take place on Friday, May 8 at 6:30 p.m. in Pucillo Gymnasium, will feature German professor Dr. Leroy Hopkins as commencement speaker.

Also a native of Lancaster County, Hopkins received his undergraduate degree in German and Russian from Millersville University and his doctoral degree in Germanic Languages & Literature from Harvard University. He has been employed as a professor at the University since 1979 and has served as both Assistant Chairperson and Chair of the Foreign Languages Department.
