Helicopter Landing Exercise

ROTC will get to fly in style to Fort Indiantown Gap

A helicopter landing exercise for Millersville’s Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) will take place on April 16. The US Army CH-47 helicopter will land at approximately 2:30 p.m. at a location that will not be determined until 72 hours prior to landing. Possible landing locations are Brooks Field, the open area behind Jefferson Hall and the space behind the visitor’s bleachers at Biemesderfer Stadium.

Chief Anders, MUPD and additional ROTC will secure the landing zone and ensure safety. The helicopter will be on the ground for approximately 20 minutes to pick up the cadets and transport them to Fort Indiantown Gap for training. This exercise is important for MU ROTC members who face a possibility of deployment when they graduate and are commissioned.
