Admissions, Budget and Performance Funding

MU has met its goals for admissions, the budget has been approved and it has received more than $3.28 million in performance funding.

With the fall semester underway, Millersville University has announced that it met its goals for admissions, the 2013-14 budget has been approved and the University received more than $3.28 million in performance funding.

Admissions

The University started the fall semester with 1,316 freshmen, which met the goal of 1,300. In addition, the fall semester started with 614 transfer students against a goal of 600.

Budget

For the 2013-14 fiscal year, Millersville has a $141,285,204 budget that comes from the following sources:

 

 


Performance Funding
 

Millersville received $3.28 million in performance funding from the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE). Each University put a percentage of its budget into the performance funding program and was measured on institutional performance and peer comparisons on 10 criteria. Millersville’s amount is almost $600,000 more than the University put into the program. PASSHE schools were ranked on mandatory, optional and university specific measures. Millersville ranked fourth in the state system for performance funding, behind West Chester, Indiana and Slippery Rock.

 

Mandatory criteria:

  1. degrees conferred
  2. closing the first-time freshman achievement gaps
  3. closing the access gap for first-time freshmen
  4. faculty diversity
  5. private support

Optional criteria:

  1. student persistence
  2. employee (non-faculty) diversity
  3. instructional productivity

University specific criteria:

  1. closing the freshmen second-year persistence rate gap for non-majority students
  2. sustainability – reduced carbon emissions
