Two commencement ceremonies will be held at Millersville University this spring. The graduate ceremony will be held on Friday, May 11 at 6:30 p.m. in Pucillo Gymnasium for students receiving a master’s degree and/or post-bachelor’s teacher certification. The undergraduate ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 12 at 10 a.m. at Biemesderfer Stadium for students receiving a baccalaureate degree.
The keynote speaker for the undergraduate commencement ceremony will be James E. Nevels, founder and chairman of the Swarthmore Group. He will also receive an honorary degree at the ceremony.
Nevels was appointed by the President of the United States to the advisory committee of the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation. He served a three-year term as chairman from 2005-2007. Nevels was also appointed by the governor of Pennsylvania as chairman of the Philadelphia school system, the eighth largest school district in the United States.
