A video created for Millersville University’s capital campaign, “Soar to Greatness: The Campaign for Millersville University,” recently received a bronze award at the 32nd annual Telly Awards in the category of fundraising.
“The collaboration among students, faculty, staff and alumni; the long hours and dedication it took to create the Soar to Greatness campaign video makes this award particularly special,” said Amy Dmitzak, assistant vice president for University advancement. “It is a true testament to the members of the campus community and why this capital campaign is necessary.”
The video, produced by Showreel Corporate Video Specialists, was released in September 2010 to promote Millersville’s campaign to raise money for eight campaign priorities including student-faculty research and faculty development; the library; global opportunities; scholarship and fellowships; student health and wellness; instructional equipment; civic engagement and community partnerships and visual and performing arts.
As of June 30, contributions and pledges to the campaign reached $73.7 million, inching closer toward the goal of $85 million by 2013.
This year there were approximately 11,000 Telly entries from all 50 states and numerous countries, one of the most successful and competitive in the long history of the Telly Awards, according to a news release issued by the Telly Awards.
Honoring outstanding local, regional and cable TV commercials and programs, the finest video and film productions and web commercials, videos and films, Telly award winners “represent the best work of the most respected advertising agencies, production companies, television stations, cable operators and corporate video departments in the world.”
