Four Corners: Upcoming Events

Find out which events are coming up as part of the Four Corners Summer Festival.

Friday, July 8, 7:30 p.m. – Jazz Ministers Big Band: Experience the full sound of Big Band Music from 18 talented, dedicated, professional musicians, well-known in the region for their rousing concerts, under the direction of Dr. Keith Wiley, associate professor of music at Millersville.

Bradel’s Booming Voices join Jazz Ministers: At 7 p.m., before the Jazz Ministers Big Band takes the stage, four young ladies from the Jean Bradel Studio of Voice will perform.

The performers and the grade level which they just completed are:

Haley Goodling – 8th grade, Manheim Middle School
Jordan Mitchell – 9th grade, Manheim High School
Megan Foltz – 12th grade, Donegal High School
Olivia Sallavanti – 12th grade, Catholic High School

“Since their young voices take time to develop from the ‘bud’ stage to the ‘full bloom’ of maturity, these middle school and high school voices, studying and learning the correct vocal technique, are just starting to ‘bloom,’” said Bradel.

These vocalists represent the younger students of Bradel’s studio, which includes student members from ages 11-70. Many of the students are well known in the community and perform on Broadway, internationally and regionally including the Fulton Theatre, Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre and the American Music Theatre.

The performance is free, and will be held outdoors by the Millersville University Swan Pond. Rain location is Grace United Methodist Church, Millersville.

Friday, July 15, 7:30 p.m. – Four Corners Summer Festival Musical Theatre will feature members of the Ephrata Performing Arts Center (EPAC), OperaLancaster and Popovsky Performing Arts Studio and Millersville University’s All Campus Musical Organization, performing musical numbers from the Grandeur of Opera to Broadway Pizzazz. The second performance will be indoors Saturday, July 16 at Millersville University Lancaster for $5 a ticket.

Friday-Sunday, July 22-24 and 31 – The People’s Shakespeare Project presents the comedy “Twelfth Night,” continuing the tradition of presenting the glories of Shakespeare to an outdoor venue accessible to the entire community of families eager to share the experience, under the direction of Laura Howell.

Open Captioning will be used Sunday, July 24 at the Swan Pond; non-captioned performances are July 22 and 23, at the Swan Pond. The final performance will be indoors, Sunday July 31, at Millersville University Lancaster at 7:30 p.m. for $5 a ticket.
