Black Marmot to Perform at Millersville University-Lancaster

The Black Marmot band, with special guest Bern Kelly, will be performing at Millersville University-Lancaster, 42 N. Prince Street, on Oct. 9 at 7:30 p.m.

Black Marmot has been playing as a band since 2008.  Members Tim Parker, Mike Zartarian and Linde Clark met and started playing the fall before and Ryan Callahan joined in January. They spent the first year building up a repertoire of original acoustic/rock songs and began recording their first album “Run Home” in May 2009, which was released in January of this year. Each member brings a unique component to the band and together the result is original, intricate acoustic rock. Accompanying Black Marmot in concert is Millersville alum, Bern Kelly, original alternative rock musician.

Black Marmot consists of Clark of Washington Boro, Pa., acoustic guitar and vocals; Zartarian of Mass., bass guitar and vocals; Callahan of N.Y., percussion; and Parker of Conn., electric guitar and vocals.

“Since the release of ‘Run Home’ we have been playing many shows in Boston and around New England. The show on October 9 is very exciting for me, personally, because it is the first opportunity our band has had to play in Pennsylvania,” said Clark, Millersville alum. “For me it feels like a homecoming show of sorts. I am very excited to be able to showcase the band and ‘Run Home’ with family, friends and the Lancaster community.”

Tickets for the Black Marmot concert may be purchased at MU Tickets Online. They are $15 general admission and $10 for students with Millersville identification. Doors open at 7 p.m. For more information, contact Black Marmot at blackmarmotband@gmail.com.
