I knew many things about 3D modeling because of the high school classes I took for Engineering. I was basically on fusion, inventor, or one of the others learning how to use each and I was assigned projects for them. One year I built and fully constructed a toy train, I made a carabiner pen with multiple ink colors, I made a model home my senior year, and other small things in my early high school years. On the hand, I had little to no knowledge of 3D printing. I knew you need certain things and when its printing just sit back and wait.
In class, with 3D modeling I was pretty good at it because I’ve seen it before and knew what to do and how to do it. And just like high school, I was given instructions which helped also. I was able to do it in a good amount of time. It was basically a review for me. I was also able to help people if needed. 3D printing I just sent a file to one of the computers downstairs in the stem lab which was easy and I was taught by another student on how to get it from the computer to the actual printer and the process was easy after that. You just drag and drop and then rotate the piece to where you want it and hit print.
I learned with this class that I’m still good at 3D modeling and that it is easy to 3D print. I’m glad I got to review modeling because its fun when you know how to do it because you can really make anything. 3D printing is an easy task, it just takes some time for your piece to print. There are also some problems with printing because you can get spaghetti or just deformation with the piece.
