  • Tony Gonzalez’s First Year Experience Course Portfolio

    Academic Goal

My goal is to graduate for my time here at Millersville University is to graduate with a bachelor’s degree in applied engineering technology management with a construction management focus by May 2029. I’m not a traditional college student so my experience in the field will set me more than most. I intend to still be with J.D. Eckman, hopefully entering their project management division on highways, street, and bridgework. I will achieve this by working and going to school full-time, developing the technical and leadership skills needed in project management. To make this journey more tangible, I will take the necessary coursework that will be related to management. This will help obtain a project management position. I will look to seek mentorship within my company and hopefully find someone in Millersville with the same experience to see me excel in my success. I know that I would have succeeded when I got my degree and was officially assigned an assistant project management position or the project management title, hopefully with J.D. Eckman

  • About me

I’m Tony Gonzalez. I’ve been working in construction since 2019 after high school. Started as a laborer, eventually becoming a hardscape foreman at New Castle Lawn and Landscape before transitioning to heavy civil construction. Since 2024, I’ve been working night shift as a carpenter (Accelerated Concrete Patching) with J.D. Eckman. Early this year (2025), I decided to come back to pursue a career in project management because I realized I wanted to grow in my field. After years of hands-on construction experience, I feel ready to expand my knowledge and prepare myself for advancement in this industry.
