At Millersville University, our students are making their mark in meaningful ways—inside the classroom and out in the world. One shining example is Graham Roberts, who completed an internship with Smithsonian Folkways Records, the nonprofit record label of the Smithsonian Institution.
Smithsonian Folkways is internationally recognized for preserving and sharing the sounds of diverse cultures, from traditional folk music to contemporary global recordings. During his internship, Graham gained hands-on experience in one of the most respected institutions in the music industry. His work supported the label’s mission of documenting and celebrating music as an essential expression of human experience.
Graham’s internship reflects the power of experiential learning—where passion meets opportunity. By engaging with projects at Smithsonian Folkways, he not only strengthened his technical and professional skills but also deepened his understanding of music’s cultural importance.
We are proud to celebrate Graham as a student who represents the best of Millersville: curiosity, creativity, and a commitment to making an impact. His journey reminds us that the skills developed here open doors to extraordinary opportunities on a global stage.
