This past Sunday, February 24, 2025, The Tell School of Music hosted the 1st Annual Clair Brothers Music Business Technology Program “Music Industry Conference” in conjunction with the Central Pennsylvania Music Hall of Fame Youth Showcase at Millersville University. What an incredible celebration of talent, collaboration, and passion for music! From the enthusiastic performances by young artists to the behind-the-scenes support from faculty and professionals, the event was a true testament to the future of music in the region.
Held at the Millersville University Student Memorial Center, the event provided a free, welcoming space for aspiring musicians to showcase their skills. A diverse lineup of student performers took the stage, each bringing their unique style and energy. From original compositions to well-loved covers, each act delivered their best in front of a packed audience. It was inspiring to watch these young musicians express themselves and receive feedback from a panel of esteemed judges. Each performer was met with enthusiastic applause and supportive feedback.
Collaboration with Millersville University and the Music Industry Program
The success of the event was made possible through the amazing collaboration between the Central Pennsylvania Music Hall of Fame and Millersville University’s Tell School of Music. Dr. Jester’s Live Audio 1 class handled the sound and production, working in tandem with MU TechOps to ensure that everything went smoothly behind the scenes.
The “Music Industry Conference,” hosted by Dr. Atticks and Dr. Estes, featured a stellar lineup of guest speakers, including Evan Taylor, project manager for Domino Records; Jeff Snyder, Professor Emeritus of Music at Lebanon Valley College; and Matt Herr, an Emmy Award-winning front-of-house engineer for Elton John. Their insights on the music industry offered valuable knowledge and inspiration to attendees, bridging the gap between student performers and seasoned professionals.
Thank you to everyone who made this event possible—our performers, judges, volunteers, and all of the dedicated individuals who helped bring this vision to life. Here’s to the future of music in Central Pennsylvania!
