Sydney Alexa Rauchut, a double major in Music Education and Music Industry at the Tell School of Music, Millersville University, was selected as the 2024 Vyner Competition winner. This prestigious award honors the late founder and conductor of the Lancaster Symphony Orchestra and recognizes outstanding student performers, including conductors.As part of this award, Sydney will perform as a featured soloist with one of the Tell School of Music’s large ensembles during the 2024-2025 season.

Sydney has held the Principal Saxophone Chair in the Millersville University Wind Ensemble for three years and will perform with them at the PMEA All-State Conference in 2025. She is also a member of the Millersville University Jazz Ensemble and recently performed as a substitute with the Philadelphia Wind Symphony.

With her upcoming solo performance and a commitment to both performance and music industry studies, Sydney looks forward to launching an international career in music after graduating in May 2026.
