Tell School of Music Faculty: Making a Difference at the High School Level

We are proud to celebrate the achievements of the private students of the Tell School of Music faculty. A student of Professor Paul Murr from Hempfield Area School District and two students of Professor Steven Goss from Ephrata earned spots in regional music ensembles, demonstrating exceptional skill and dedication. Several students from Professor Shiffer’s private studio also achieved impressive placements in regional ensembles. One trombonist earned first chair in District Band, second chair in District Orchestra, and is also a two-time All-State Band participant. Another trombonist secured second chair in District Band and third chair in District Orchestra. Additional students achieved notable placements, including a trombonist securing eleventh chair in District Band and a tuba player earning fourth chair in District Band.

Three of Professor Kaufman’s private alto and tenor saxophone students successfully auditioned for the PMEA District Band. Meanwhile, Dr. Banks’ private clarinet student from Manheim Township earned first chair in both band and orchestra in PMEA ensembles. Additionally, seven students from Professor Morgann Davis’s studio were accepted into PMEA District 7 Honor Bands.

These remarkable accomplishments reflect the exceptional quality of instruction provided by our faculty. The success of their students in competitive music settings highlights the instructors’ expertise and dedication. These achievements not only showcase the students’ talent but also emphasize the profound impact of the teaching at the Tell School of Music. We extend our heartfelt

congratulations to all the students and professors for their outstanding accomplishments and well-deserved recognition.
