The Tell School of Music  2024 Fall  Choral Concert was a powerful showcase of Millersville University’s choral talent, presenting a diverse program that spanned lively world music and contemplative classical works. The Choral Union opened with Montoya’s vibrant “Jambo, Rafiki Yangu. The Cantilena Choir followed, drawing listeners into a reflective mood with Sweelinck’s “Vanitas, Vanitatum” and Brinsmead’s evocative setting of “Sea Fever.” The ensemble delivered these pieces with emotional depth, bringing the timeless texts to life and striking a chord with the audience. Next, Chorale took the stage, performing Barber’s “Under the Willow Tree” with a memorable solo by Abigail Wieder that added a heartfelt touch to the evening. The concert concluded with the University Choir, whose selections included Stroope’s “The Road Not Taken,” a piece that balanced individual voices with collective harmony. They closed with Gibbs’ serene “Hush!” leaving the audience with a sense of calm and reflection.
