Dr. Xun Pan, piano

As 2020 marks the 250th anniversary of Beethoven’s birth, celebrations of his music have been going on everywhere in Europe, Asia, America, and Africa. To commemorate the composer’s legacy, Steinway Artist, pianist Xun Pan has been presenting a concert series of impressive dimensions. While there have been a few pianists in the world who have tackled the formidable task of performing all of the composer’s piano sonatas, very few assume the giant task of performing all 32 piano sonatas, plus, the 10 piano and violin sonatas, and the 5 piano and cello sonatas and 3 variations. Dr. Xun Pan, in partnership with violinist Simon Maurer and cellist Emilio Colón, is performing all 50 works over a period of two and a half years here at the Ware Center and internationally. He’s going to finish the project in November this year, and all his 32 Beethoven Piano Sonatas will be collected in the Steinway Spirio library, and also releasing a set of CDs. The last two lecture recitals of the Beethoven Piano Sonatas are happening on September 24, 2021, and November 12, 2021. Please join him at 7:30 PM at the Ware Center (42 N. Prince Street, Lancaster, PA 17602) to celebrate the end of this project!
