In the construction assignment, we were given a sheet of paper and 6 hole reinforcement stickers and tasked with hanging a 2 liter bottle of water from two pegs with them while using the least amount of material possible for the most efficient design. My group realized that the paper would be the weakest link, so we overlapped the hole reinforcement sticker on two holes right next to each other to make sure the paper never had to support anything by itself. This project showed us that more material does not always mean more support, and that using a small amount of strong material can be much more efficient than a large amount of weak material.
