I print the article and i get a high lighter. before doing anything i get a summary to know what i will read about. Right after I’m done with the summary, I read the article and highlight names, places, and main ideas. I use to never take notes because i thought my memory was good but doing this got me from 60% to 80%. this was a very big change to my grade and i am proud of it. I recommend this to everyone because it worked just fine to me.
BLOGGGGGGGGG
I print out the article so i can see it better and then i use a highlighter to point out the important things. after I’m done collecting locations and names and key point and re read the highlighted part and write it down in my notebook. I also copy whatever my friend copied and now i got double the chance of getting a question correct in the quiz for Dr.Garcia
Reflecting on my new reading strategies
There is many readying strategies and all the teachers would say to read the questions first. That is something I never do because I’m a very lazy person. I think I have to change that bad habit. For me the lest i read the better but I know it might backfire. Everyone has told me that i will have to read a lot in University and I totally hate reading. Another strategy is reading a summary of the story right before you start reading the book or story. The only strategy that I be using is the one where you type and search up the words that you don’t know. That strategy helped me a lot when i didn’t know the language. I would have google translate in another tab ready to put any words that I didn’t know.
Learning a new language
As a kid my life and surroundings has just been one huge mess. Many things going on, many things holding me back. My mothers first and last option was to leave PR to start a new life in USA. Even though i was leaving, I was so happy that I would get to see my other family in the USA. But everything changed in a blink of an eye. My summer ended and now I’m entering a brand new school with a brand new language. I was told English would be easy to learn.
