Who Are We?

At Millersville, undergraduate and graduate research is highlighted at the Made in Millersville annual student conference. The Conference provides a venue for Millersville students to showcase their research and creativity to the campus and surrounding communities. Students can present a paper, perform a spoken word poem, present an art sculpture, discuss a poster, play a musical, or the like.

To capture the research and creativity demonstrated at the annual Made in Millersville Conference, Tatiana Pashkova-Balkenhol and Kerrie Farkas co-founded and co-created the Made in Millersville Journal, a conference proceedings journal that aims to do the following:

  1. Contribute to undergraduate research at Millersville by showcasing research and creativity across campus in a digital form and preserving it so that the cycle of scholarly conversation of student work can continue year-round.
  2. Offer student conference presenters a learning experience on how to publish a written summary of their research and creativity for a general audience
  3. Provide an opportunity for students to serve as interns and editors to gain hands-on practice on how to work in a multidisciplinary team environment and to build pathways to college and their future careers.

Our Mission:

The Made in Millersville Journal captures diverse and vibrant student projects presented at the annual Made in Millersville conference. It provides students with a unique learning opportunity as they share their research and creativity with a public audience through the publication process in a digital collection.

The Journal enables the creation of multidisciplinary connections by publishing various disciplinary projects in once place to continue scholarly discussion after the Made in Millersville event.
