Title: Spatial analysis of undergraduate research submissions for the CUR Posters on the Hill.

Abstract: Each spring, the Council on Undergraduate Research (CUR) hosts an annual undergraduate poster session on Capitol Hill to highlight the importance of undergraduate research to congressional leaders. This project identifies the spatial relationships of undergraduate research submissions by congressional district using a GIS (Geographic Information Systems) based analysis. Data from 2013-2016 Posters on the Hill (POH) submissions were analyzed based on, (1) the congressional district from which the first listed author of each submission came, and (2) the educational research institution publishing the submission. Results presented include maps detailing annual and aggregate patterns to help CUR improve their understanding of the origin of undergraduate research.
