reflecting my reading strategies

Before I read any of the passages I think about any knowledge that I have on the topic. I look at the topic and think about if I’m interested in it or not. I scan the last paragraph and I see if I can sum up the whole topic.

Everything pretty much worked. I thought about questions to ask myself before and after the reading. I used the who, what, when, where, and why method also. I reflected on what I learned. I followed all of these points and it helped me understand and come together with the passage.

I would like to keep using all the strategies. I feel like these strategies will help me along my process here at Millersville. I feel like I will do better anytime I get an passage and have to read it and reflect on it. I might not be interested in the passage or topic but it could help me go a long way.

I can make them my reading strategies or habits by thinking about them and thinking about how easy it got me through the work I was given. S, what do I want to do, I would think about how I want to do good on the paper. M, I would know that I reached it when I’ve gone through all the steps. A, it is and will always be my own power to accomplish my work and get a good grade. R, I can and will realistically achieve anything. T, I want to accomplish my work when it is handed to me and I will get it done right then and there.

Danae Days

For my senior project I had to make a movie. It was a little documentary about cyberbullying. The mindset I had for it was getting different views and opening the eyes to kids in my generation and to the younger kids. So I interviewed four people. They all were in different age groups. Two were younger kids and the other two were near my age. They all gave me information about the views and I gave them my view. The two little kids didn’t really see what I saw as an older kid. The one young girl I interviewed actually experienced cyberbullying. At the end of the day everyone wanted the same solution. Everyone wanted cyberbullying to end. Everybody didn’t like what was going on in the world today.
