Are you…
Open-minded and curious? Persistent and hard-working? Organized? Self-reflective? Service-oriented and a team-player?
If so, you should apply to be a Research Fellows Startup Participant!
The new Multidisciplinary McNairy Research Fellows Program will be one-semester undergraduate research experience.
Because first generation and minoritized students are much less likely to be extended the opportunity for participation in the high impact practice of undergraduate research, McNairy Librarian Mentors will prioritize their recruitment into the program.
The program will focus on students beginning an exploration of a research topic, building a community of support, and connecting with research opportunities and funding at Millersville University and beyond.
Students who complete the program will have transferable library research skills which will equip them to be capable researchers in a variety of fields. In addition, program participants will initiate contact with a faculty mentor to continue to grow and develop their skills and dispositions.
At least 3 program participants will be selected for the spring semester. Each will be awarded approximately $800 stipend at completion of the program. The stipend is designed to facilitate recruitment of students who would not otherwise be able to participate due to financial obligations and other structural barriers.
