When we first started working on the 3D printing unit, I already knew how to do most of it. I took one class in high school that showed us how to print 3D items. In that class we designed a personal keychain in a program called inventor. Inventor is actually a lot like fusion. The differences are that the buttons are in different places. When it came to the actual 3D printing part. The 3D printer was different from the ones we used in this class. The 3D printer that was in my class can make an object with 4 different colors instead of just one color.
In the entire assignment, the only part I connected with was when I had to make the 3D model in the fusion program. The reason why I connected with this part Is because I enjoy designing objects in a 3D model in a program. The learning experience that was most helpful to me was working with a physical object. And the learning experience that was less helpful for me was to use the internet and to discuss the work in a group.
The new thing I learned in this assignment is how to use the type of 3D printer that we had to use and where the commands are in the fusion Program. One example of how I would use this knowledge in the future is by making 3D objects for any specific pieces I would need to make and use this information to help me in a 3d printing class that I would hopefully take in the future.
