Electronics – Light Up Decoration – 11/24/2025…

This project tasked us to create a light up decoration using copper tape, LEDs, and a cell (disc) battery. We were also given materials such as construction paper, markers (I used my own), scissors, tape, and other materials.

I created a light up Christmas card featuring the design of a jalapeño, which a family tradition of mine. The tradition is just having one of the kids hang up the jalapeño ornament in the center of the Christmas tree, the last step in decorating the tree. It was interesting to work with copper tape rather than wire to build a circuit. I learned that having different colored LED bulbs would not allow both bulbs to work, each color has different resistance levels which is why this happens.
