Day 4: 10.26.10

The plant looks very healthy and is continuing to grow at a very steady rate.  There are two plants and they are sprouting little leafs every time we check in on it.  Due to the success of the system we decided against making changes and are going to see what Thursday brings.

Day 3: 10.21.10

Plants increased in size and still appears to be growing healthy but was a bit droopy.  We then discovered that rock-wool had clogged the hose and was preventing water from reaching the plant.  We unclogged that and made sure there was a steady flow to be sure the plant would no longer be deprived if any water.

Day 2: 10.19.10

Today was the five day mark after we planted our seeds and two had already begun to sprout and were petruding from the rockwool about half an inch to a inch.  Due to the nutrient mixture, there was a small layer of film sitting on top of the water in the system.  Due to the quick success of the system we opted to not make any changes to it and we would see how it would fare during the next class period.

Day 1: 10.14.10

Today was the day in which we finalized our hydroponics system and planted the lettuce.   Ten seeds were planted in a single block of rock wool and the system will flood for fifteen minutes with a fourty-five minute break.  It sits under the light which travels continuously on a horizontal path.
