As I approach graduation, I reflect on how much I’ve grown during my time in college. Each challenge has shaped me and prepared me for the real world ahead. I’m excited to take the skills and I’ve gained and apply them in my future endeavors. I’m ready to embrace new opportunities and make my mark in the professional world.

Community engagemnt

Attending the mental health fair was an eye-opening experience that strengthened my understanding of community engagement and its importance. The fair provided a safe and welcoming environment for people to learn about mental health resources, share experiences, and connect with others. It gave me the opportunity to interact with advocates and professionals, helping me see the power of open conversations and collective support in breaking the stigma around mental health. Receiving a T-shirt at the event symbolized not just my participation, but also a sense of belonging to a community that cares deeply about mental well-being.

Before this experience, I already had some knowledge about the importance of mental health and community support. I understood that mental health fairs can be instrumental in spreading awareness and offering resources to those in need. However, being part of the event added a layer of personal connection and meaning for me. It was inspiring to witness how such gatherings can foster understanding, compassion, and change within a community. The T-shirt now serves as a reminder of the connections made and the positive impact we can all have by engaging with and supporting one another.

Construction

When I conducted the experiment of holding up a bottle using just paper on some pegs, it gave me a fascinating hands-on experience with the principles of construction and structural engineering. I realized how much thought goes into creating stable designs with limited materials. By strategically folding, layering, and positioning the paper, I was able to distribute the bottle’s weight effectively and prevent the structure from collapsing. This exercise highlighted concepts like load distribution, tension, and compression, which are fundamental to construction projects of any scale.

Prior to this, I had some general knowledge about basic construction techniques and how to create simple structures using everyday items. I understood the importance of balance, leverage, and material strength. However, putting these concepts into practice with this experiment sharpened my ability to think creatively and apply engineering principles to solve a real-world challenge. It made the theoretical concepts feel more tangible and showed me how even the simplest materials can be used effectively with the right design and planning.

Laser Ingraving

Working with laser engraving has been an enlightening experience that helped me understand the intricacies of precision and design in a whole new way. Watching the laser create patterns and etch designs into various materials brought the concept of controlled energy application to life. It showed me how laser beams, guided by digital instructions, can manipulate surfaces with extreme accuracy. This process not only deepened my understanding of the technology itself but also gave me insight into the importance of calibration, speed settings, and material compatibility.

I already had some basic knowledge about how to operate machines and create designs digitally, which helped me approach laser engraving with confidence. I knew how to work with software to create vector files and understood concepts like layering and scaling from my past experiences with design projects. However, laser engraving challenged me to think about the physical properties of materials and how different settings could affect the outcome. This hands-on experience tied my prior theoretical knowledge to practical results, making it a rewarding and educational endeavor.

Electronics

When I worked on turning on a light bulb using cables, it gave me a hands-on experience that deepened my understanding of electrical circuits. Seeing the bulb light up as I connected the wires helped me visualize how electricity flows in a circuit, completing the path for the current to travel. It was fascinating to see how each component plays a role, from the power source to the switch and the bulb itself. This practical exercise gave me a clearer understanding of concepts like voltage, current, and resistance, which previously seemed abstract.

Before this, I had some prior knowledge about making circuits. I knew about basic setups, such as how to connect a battery to wires and a small motor. I had learned how to identify different components like resistors, capacitors, and switches, and how they influence the circuit’s behavior. This knowledge provided a foundation that made the process of lighting up the bulb with cables easier for me to understand. However, actually completing the task gave me more confidence and cemented my grasp of electrical circuits in a way that theoretical learning alone couldn’t.

3D Modeling

I always knew that 3D modeling was a way to create three-dimensional representations of objects using computer software, but it wasn’t until I started exploring it myself that I fully grasped its importance and potential. In the real world, 3D modeling plays a vital role in various fields like architecture, engineering, video game design, and even medical imaging. It helps professionals visualize concepts, solve problems, and bring creative ideas to life in a tangible way.

When I worked on creating a 3D LEGO model, the process truly deepened my understanding. Manipulating each piece in the software, aligning them precisely, and ensuring the structure was both functional and visually accurate gave me hands-on experience with the challenges and intricacies of 3D modeling. It taught me the importance of attention to detail, spatial thinking, and problem-solving. This exercise transformed what I thought was just a technical skill into a creative and rewarding experience, reinforcing my confidence in using 3D modeling for future projects.

Workers Safety

Worker’s safety is in important role in in moving on into a real job and making sure everything around you in hazardous situations you know what to do.

this experiment taught us about what we cand o in a hazardous situation putting us into a test and thinking of ways to fix the problem.
