Learning By Doing Construction Activity
The goal of this activity was to make us think like a builder and understand how engineers take weight into account, so we had to build a suspension system that would hold a two-liter bottle filled with water for 10 seconds. The support for the suspension is the wooden support you see in the picture, one of the challenges of the activity is that the less materials we used the better the result, that is why we used sheets of paper hanging them as much as we could, for that we used a hole puncher and made a lot of holes in the paper. The mechanism you see in the picture is the one we used for our last test in which we exceeded 10 seconds with an efficiency of 95.3%.
