Day 6

Day 6 Progress

On day 6 we came into class and seen that our plants had grown a little more and are still a bright green. The plants are about 2 inches tall.  We then checked the ph of the water and seen that we were still holding a consistent 6.5 ph. We also have a good water level yet and the drip system seems to be working great.

  1. You guys have the most creative design in my opinion, and you plants seem to be rewarding you for your efforts. Have you guys seen any calcium build up in your aquarium?

  2. I like the fact that you guys have a different system than everyone else in the class. The drip system you guys made was based on a great design. I think that your plants may need a little bit more room to grow but I think they will be fine. I think that the system that you guys have for watering your plants is good too. On the field trip to Aquaponics the man in charge said that he has his plants on a times system as well which ran roughly every other 30 min. This way your plants wont get too over watered which in my groups system there is a possibility to over water them. Make sure you guy don’t ruin any more of my groups beautiful flower pictured though. Over all your system is great. Keep up the great work.

  3. i was looking at your system today and it seemed like after it was off for a while the rock wool started to get dry. Have you guys thought about leaving the drips on longer or increasing the drip flow or is that suppose to happen?

  4. I like the design of your system. It seems that even with your weekend fire marshall bill issue, your plants are growing quickly. You might even catch up with us IF you can handle it. Nice job so far with the troubleshooting & fixing issues that come up.

  5. It’s good to see your system is running well after those minor SNAFUs in the beginning. I really like your drip system. I sort of wish our system had something like that. It’s a great way of keeping the rockwool moist with the nutrient solution for the plants to feed on. Your plants look really healthy. Keep up the good work!
