Millersville University has partnered with Apogee to provide best in class internet service in the residence halls, including the Villages and Shenks and Reighard Halls. Upon completion of the project upgrade, students will receive internet speeds of 100 Mbps download and 25 Mbps upload for each device, up to seven (7) devices. Additionally, Apogee will now be responsible for the residence hall customer support that Millersville University has provided in the past.
In the upcoming days (Wednesday, November 3rd – Saturday, November 13th) users may experience intermittent wireless & wired interruptions as we make the necessary infrastructure changes. Throughout the installation both Millersville Wi-Fi and Apogee’s Wi-Fi will be available. As installation concludes in your area, we recommend connecting to Apogee’s network for internet service as soon as it becomes available. You will see Apogee’s SSID listed as one of the network options on your device(s).
Upon completion, residential students in the Villages, Shenks, and Reighard Halls will utilize a device management portal and student app. The portal and app provide device management within as well as one-touch access to Apogee’s student support via call, chat, or email. MU students are encouraged to download the app prior to project installation. Once the installation is complete, you will have access to use the student app and portal.
The Apogee installation crew will be installing new Wi-Fi access point (AP) hardware in your rooms / suites between the times of 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM based upon the schedule listed below. We anticipate that each install should only take a few minutes to complete. Please do your best to have the floor space under your Wi-Fi access point clear of obstructions for a safe and quick installation. You do not have to be present when the service crew does this work. Installation will be delayed for any suites that have students that are quarantining.
Listed below is a detailed project timeline. While the installation team has scheduled the following timeline and will do their best to adhere to it, please understand that there could be slight deviations, including being ahead of schedule.

- For iOS14+ and Android 10+ devices – Turn off your private address or MAC randomization feature BEFORE connecting to the new network. Go to myresnet.com/support for instructions.
- Students – Connect to the Student-5G network for faster, uninterrupted wireless connectivity – Only devices that cannot see the Student-5G network should connect to Student-2G network. To ensure a constant connection to Student-5G, you need to eliminate the option for your device to connect to the 2G network, simply forget, or disable automatic connection to the 2G network.
*Gaming consoles typically do not have the appropriate hardware for 5G connectivity so use 2G.
