Fulbright Scholar Program Workshop

Sophia Yang, Program Officer for East Asia and the Pacific/South and Central Asia, for the Fulbright Scholar Program at the Council for International Exchange of Scholars (CIES), will offer a workshop on the Fulbright Scholar Program for administrators, faculty members, and professionals.

Interested faculty and administrators are encouraged to attend this FREE workshop. Light breakfast refreshments will be served at 9 a.m. followed by a PowerPoint presentation. A Q&A session and individual consultations with interested faculty and administrators to further discuss their project proposals and specific world region of interest will ensue.

Study Abroad in Northern Ireland!

A representative from Queen’s University in Belfast, Northern Ireland, Erin McHugh, will be on campus on Monday, October 31st.  She will meet with campus faculty and staff to discuss collaboration efforts. She will also meet with students at an informational presentation in the Student Memorial Center.

On Wednesday, October 26th, Global Education will host a Study/Intern Abroad Open House! Students are invited to drop by the Office of Global Education in Cumberland House between 10:00 am-3:00 pm to learn more information about studying, interning or student teaching abroad. Study Abroad Program Coordinators will be available to meet with students who are interested in going abroad for academic credit and to discuss the study abroad process.  Receive a free lanyard when you visit!

Welcome Dr. Lina Diao, Visiting Research Scholar

Millersville University and Global Education is pleased to welcome Dr. Lina Diao , a Professor from Xinyang Normal University,  MU’s partner university in Henan, China.  Hosted by Dr. Jianfeng Wang, chair of the Department of Management and Marketing, Dr. Diao will be here on campus as a Visiting Research Scholar for the Management and Marketing Department.  Welcome, Dr. Diao!  We hope you enjoy your visit in the US!

The session will be held on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at 7:00 PM, in the Student Memorial Center (SMC) – MPR room.

New Faculty Coordinator – Dr. Christine Gaudry!

We welcome Dr. Christine Gaudry as our new Faculty Coordinator here in the Office of Global Education & Partnerships! Dr. Gaudry has been a faculty member in the department of foreign languages since 1992 and she served as chair for nine years. She received her master’s degree from Université de Paris X Nanterre, and a master’s and doctorate from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. Her areas of specialization include French and Francophone literature. Here in our office she will be advising our study abroad and international students, helping to internationalize the campus, and promoting international opportunities and curriculum with various departments. We look forward to having her serve as a new addition to our team!

 

 

New Director of International Programs!

The Office of Global Education & Partnerships is pleased to announce that after a vigorous interview process, the appointment of the new Director of International Programs has been filled by Ms. Patriece N. Campbell.

Ms. Campbell comes to us with considerable experience in international education, program building and management, internationalizing university systems, and English language programs. Patriece is the former Associate Director of the International Center at the University of Michigan-Flint and has an M.P.A – Master of Public Administration, from the University of Michigan.  She is expected to receive her Ed.D. in Educational Leadership (Transformative Leadership) from the University of New England in 2017.

Her considerable experience comes from eleven years working in the International Center at the University of Michigan, as an active member and previous Chair of the Michigan Association of International Educators, as a representative on the University of Michigan-Flint Diversity Council, as a NAFSA-Association of International Educators Region V–Representative for State of Michigan, and from traveling to multiple countries across four continents for student recruitment, conferences and seminars.

Originally from Jamaica, she is moving here with her family, and our office is delighted to have found someone like Patriece to be our new Director. We look forward to introducing her to the campus community. You may contact Ms. Campbell at 717-871-7506.
