For this learning by doing we focused on the simple aspects of circuitry and what can carry an electric current and what would not. This is a simpler way of visualizing how electricity works rather than larger wires and outlets. I have had previous experience dealing with circuitry in my home maintenance and construction class in high school. This was a great class that taught me how to wire up circuits and power lightbulbs and outlets.
Here are a few examples of different ways to complete a circuit using different conductors. For this we used a pair of scissors, a piece of foil, paperclips and a brass tack. We were also given a situation were two light switches were needed, one for at the top of stairs and one at the bottom. For this we came up with a parallel type circuit to transfer the electricity from one “switch” to another.
