Learning by Doing – 3D Modeling

Making a Lego brick from cardboard layers
3-D modeled Lego brick

At the start of this activity I learned about how to 3-D model using the Fusion workspace, which was pretty tricky to get the hang of. Although in the end this was a fun experience to see each part of the process when it comes to 3-D modeling. We learned about how each side of the object should be considered when wanting to 3-D print, as well as following the x, y, and z coordinate system. Through the use of 3-D modeling and printing, one can create any item they desire for both creative intentions or to actually use or replace an item, such as a handle for a desk drawer.
